Apple OSX hot-key cheat sheet.
While most think of Apple’s OSX operating system being all graphical and mouse driven keyboard shortcuts still abound and make our computing lives much easier.
The keyboard on Apple iMac’s are different than systems that run Microsoft Windows so I made myself a hot-key cheat sheet and thought I would share with my readers.
Common Tasks:
Cmd-C Copy files
Cmd-V Paste files
Option-Drag Copy files to new location
Cmd-Drag Move and auto-align icons
Cmd-Delete Delete
Cmd-Option-Drag Make alias
Cmd-Shift-Delete Empty trash
Cmd-Shift-Option-Delete Empty trash without warning
Print Screen:
Cmd-Shift-3 Take snapshot of the whole screen
Cmd-Shift-4 Take snapshot of the selected area
Cmd-Shift-4-Spacebar Take picture of a window
System Freeze:
Cmd-Period[.] Stop process
Cmd-Option-Escape Open Force Quit
Cmd-Option-Shift-Power Key Force shut down
Cmd-Control-Power Key Force restart
